Alanya
In teh ancient Greco-Roman era Korakesion this pirate sanctuary in the east to Pamphilia, had very special place in the annals of history.
It was taken by the Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat and was named Alaiye. Today it is a Mediterranean holiday resort where most freigners settle. There is a belief that if one throws a stone to the sea from the 250 metre high fortress, one’s wish will come true. The beaches holiday resorts and hotels as well as the surrouding area make alanya a wonderful holiday resort. Seeing the Manavgat waterfalls as one comes to Alanya is also a must.
