Ürgüp 19 km east of Nevşehir displays the most early forums of the Cappodocian church styles. THese are built in groups as wel as individual regions.

These churches carved in stone are best symbolised by sapmles such as the Archangel, Karain, Tavşanlı, Karlık. St. Basileios and Karaçalı. In Ürgüp handcratsts have a very important place and is a touristic attraction.
